The Korean War is sometimes called the Forgotten War. But those who lost their lives serving in Korea will be remembered forever.
Veterans Memorial Hall was filled today with the memories of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. The local Korean war veterans chapter hosts the ceremony each year.
Warren Ramsey, Chief Master Sergeant of the U.S. Air Force, coordinated the event. He referred to a quote from George Washington: "The young people of this nation or any nation will only determine the greatness of that nation by the way they treat their veterans."
Veterans read off names and rang a bell for each of the 57 Winnebago and Boone county soldiers who were killed during the Korean War.
