Rockford Park District announces heat-related cancellations

ROCKFORD (WREX) -

Due to Wednesday's oppressive heat, the Rockford Park District has announced several cancellations and program changes.

  • Buddy Baseball Game - Canceled (will be made up on August 8)
  • Wheelchair softball practice - Canceled
  • Time 2 Play Summer Playground program - All locations closing at 3:00 p.m. except Elliot Park/Flodin Boys & Girls Club
  • Spray Pads will be activated until 8:00 p.m. at Beattie Playground, Black Hawk Park, Brown Park, Bloom School Playground, Dahlquist Park, Churchill Park, S. Henrietta Park, Harmon Park, Keye-Mallquist Part, Liberty Park, Washington Park, and Mandeville Park
