The man accused of killing a Northern Illinois University student at a party last November has pleaded not guilty.

Twenty-year-old Chaz Thrailkill pleaded not guilty Monday to charges of first-degree murder, aggravated battery, and aggravated discharge of a firearm in the death of 22-year-old Steven Agee II of Park Forest.

Police say Thrailkill shot Agee during an argument at an off-campus party in DeKalb. Thrailkill, a resident of Markham, Illinois, was visiting friends in DeKalb at the time.

Thrailkill is currently in jail on $3 million bond.
