Theater fans and history buffs were in for a treat at the Midway Village Museum's presentation of "Old River Tales"
The production is a history of Rockford told through a musical. It covers from 1823 to 1900 and tells the story of the Rock River Valley's first settlers. The show's co-author and director explains why they chose this time period.
"We had to begin at the beginning and it was such an interesting period with people like Hononegah and Stephen Mack, Abe Lincoln, and others Camp Fuller the Civil War camp here we just couldn't stay away from it," said Rufus Cadigan
The show's cast is made up of professional actors and dancers.
