District 205 and Alignment Rockford teamed up to hold an information session on Thursday for industry leaders interested in partnering with the district for its high school academies.
The groups are putting together four College and Career Readiness Councils to help support the academies. Council members will community members and members of District 205. The purpose of the councils is to keep academy teaching and activities relevant to students and up to standards.
"I think this will give students an opportunity to see how their education relates to their future lives and give them that reason to come to school and give it their best," Director of College and Career Readiness David Carson said.
Another meeting will be held Friday, July 20 at 7:30 a.m. at the Rockford Public Schools office, which is located at 501 7th Street.
