Thousands of people in the Rockford area lost power due to Wednesday night's storm, and some ComEd customers could be out until Saturday.
Of the over 24,000 people who lost power last night in Boone and Winnebago Counties, only about 3,100 are still without it. However, ComEd says some customers are hard to reach because of damage caused by the storm.
The electricity provider says most customers will see their power restored by Friday night, but a small number in some of the hardest hit areas could be out of luck until Saturday.
