Judge grants William Cellini sentencing delay

Posted: Updated:

A judge postpones former power broker William Cellini's sentencing until the fall.

Judge James Zagel set the new date to October 4. Cellini's attorneys asked for the delay, saying their client can't travel from Springfield because of his health. The 77-year-old suffered a heart attack last month and was also recently treated for a blood clot. Prosecutors want Cellini to go to jail for conspiring to extort money for former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich. This is the second delay Cellini's been granted.
