2 men arrested for Machesney Park burglary

MACHESNEY PARK (WREX) -

Two Machesney Park men have been arrested after allegedly breaking in to Pomps Tire on Burden Road.

Winnebago County Sheriff's Police were called to the scene just before midnight on July 17. There, they noticed someone had gained entry to the business by cutting through a garage door with tools.

Deputies stopped a van seen leaving the area that contained Michael Smallwood, 33, and Dustin Milvert, 17. Smallwood and Milvert were subsequently arrested after further investigation. Both men have been charged with burglary.

Many similar burglaries have been reported around the area and the Rockford and Loves Park Police Departments are working with detectives from Winnebago County on follow-up investigations.
