
A vacant home at 803 Mattis Avenue caught fire around 11:00 p.m. Sunday evening.
The cause of the fire is unknown, but firefighters discovered heavy fires on both floors of the Cape Cod-style home upon their arrival. The fire was declared under control within eleven minutes thanks to the work of 24 firefighters. Crews remained on the scene for another two hours to finish operations.
Estimated damage to the home is $30,000.
