Group works to raise Autism awareness

ROCKFORD (WREX) -

One group reaches out to raise Autism awareness in Rockford.

The Fourth Annual Autism Awareness Festival is in effort to present resources available to families affected by Autism. The event provides attractions for children so parents can take time and learn of all the programs offered for Autism in the Rockford area.

"1 in 88 children will be diagnosed with an Autism spectrum disorder and if you take the girls out of that statistic 1 in 54 boys will be diagnosed," said Autism Service Center Coordinator Lori Davie.

Autism is the fastest growing developmental disability in the US.
