UPDATED: Winnebago Co. Sheriff's Police investigate one car fatal accident

WINNEBAGO COUNTY (WREX) -

SECOND UPDATE:
According to Winnebago County Coroner Sue Fiduccia, Brittney England died as a result of severe head trauma caused by the crash.

UPDATE:
The accident's victim, 22-year-old Brittney England of Rockford, was driving northbound when she lost control of her vehicle and over-corrected.

The car left the road, hit an embankment, and then a tree. England was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

PREVIOUSLY:
Winnebago County Sheriff's Police are one the scene of a one car fatal accident at South Meridian and Simpson.

It happened shortly after 8 this evening. According to Police a woman's car ran into a tree and she is the only victim. We'll have more on this story as it develops.
