Three arrested after Garfield Avenue stabbing

Three people have been arrested after a man was stabbed late Thursday evening in the 1000 block of Garfield Avenue.

Police responded to the scene just before 10:30 p.m. where they found a 38-year-old Rockford man stabbed in the leg. The man was transported to a local hospital with a life threatening injury.

Several witnesses and possible suspects were brought in to the Public Safety Building as part of a follow up investigation. That investigation led to the following arrests and charges:

  • Tywanna L. West, 47, Rockford - 2 counts Attempted First Degree Murder, Mob Action, Aggravated Battery
  • Shawanna Hurt, 21, Rockford - Mob Action, Aggravated Battery
  • Clayton Parr, 40, Rockford - Mob Action, Aggravated Battery

 Rockford Police are not officially releasing photographs of the suspects due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.
