5 people displaced after fire claims 11th St. apartment complex


Five adults are being helped by the American Red Cross after an early Friday morning fire.

Fire tore through an eight family apartment complex located at 518 11th Street just before 6:30 a.m. Friday. Three engines, two ladders, and one ambulance responded. The fire was under control within thirty minutes thanks to an interior attack initiated by firefighters. Five people were displaced and one firefighter suffered a minor injury.

The estimated damage to the structure is $90,000. The cause of the fire is still undetermined.
