Three teens arrested for several Rockford burglaries


Three teens are arrested after being caught attempting to break into a residence at 1506 Yonge Street on Thursday.

The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. Officers responded to the residence in regards to four individuals attempting to break into the home by shattering a first floor door window. The individuals fled on bicycle, but Rockford Police were able to catch up with three of them and take them into custody.

Two suspects are 13 years old and the other is 14. All three admitted to committing other residential and car burglaries around Rockford, including one at 1271 Auburn Court. All three suspects have been charged with attempted residential burglary and have been housed in Juvenile Detention. All three are currently on probation.

Rockford Police are not releasing photos or the names of the suspects due to their age.
