Illinois State Police release details of Rockford safety check

Illinois State Police District 16 officers have released the details a roadside safety check held this past weekend in Rockford.

The detail was set up at Harrison Avenue going eastbound at Falund Street during the late evening of July 6 and early morning of July 7. The goal of the check was to remove alcohol-impaired drivers, however, none were discovered during the check. The following citations were issued:

  • 2 registration offenses
  • 5 driver's license offenses
  • 2 occupant restraint offenses
  • 0 DUI arrests
  • 6 other alcohol/drug arrests
  • 19 total citations/arrests
  • 3 total written warnings

The check was funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation's Division of Traffic Safety.
