Rockford shoppers could win big by "finding Waldo" at local businesses

Posted:
ROCKFORD (WREX) -

Rockford businesses are celebrating the 25th birthday of "Where's Waldo?" by hosting a hunt for the book's main character.

Wonderland Books & Toys is teaming up with Waldo's American publisher, Candlewick Press, to host a contest to encourage people to visit local businesses. As part of the celebration, Waldo will be showing up at businesses around Rockford throughout the month of July.

If a customer spots him, they can grab a card from the business. Once they've collected sixteen cards, the person can then turn those cards in at Wonderland (located in the Edgebrook Shopping Center) to receive a Waldo button and to be entered to win various prizes. The grand prize will be a complete six-volume set of Waldo books and a gift basket filled with prizes from all of the participating stores. The drawing for the prizes will be held at a Waldo party at 10:00 a.m. on July 31 at Wonderland.

Shoppers can also turn in eight cards in order to win a Waldo button.

Waldo will be visiting the following Rockford stores throughout the month of July:

  • Wonderland Books & Toys
