
Members of the Boone County Sheriff's Department spent their holiday weekend on the lookout for drunk drivers and motorists not wearing their seatbelts.
The department set up a series of seatbelt enforcement zones, which resulted in a total of 20 cars stopped and 17 tickets issued for non-compliance with seatbelt laws. One ticket was given for a child safety seat violation.
Patrols conducted overnight targeted drunk drivers and stopped a total of 23 cars. Two drug arrests, eight speeding tickets, and one insurance violation resulted from those stops. The following six people were arrested for DUI offenses:
