
Rockford Police respond to a burglary and had to use a K-9 to stop one of the thieves.
It happened just before 3AM this morning at the Valencia apartments on Fisher Avenue.
Officers got to the scene and found a witness who told them someone was stealing air conditioners from inside the building. Officers used a dog to search the building and found two suspects. One was bitten by the police dog. The other was arrested without incident. Candace Hammond was treated at a hospital for her injuries and William Purnell was taken to jail. Both are charged with burglary and criminal damage to property.
