Woman accused of murder collapses in court

A woman, accused of killing her newborn baby, collapses during a hearing in Winnebago County Court.

This is the first time our cameras have been allowed to shoot video inside a court proceeding.

Tina Lamonica is accused of first degree murder.  Police say she used cocaine while she was pregnant, and that killed her baby.

Lamonica was in court to set a date for a bond reduction hearing.   Her lawyer also filed a motion to have our cameras removed from the courtroom.  Judge Ronald White heard that motion, and arguments for and against it, then denied it.

While attorneys were going over calendars to find a date for Lamonica's next hearing, she fainted.  Her next hearing is scheduled for July 12th.  Judge White will decide whether to grant her lawyer's request to reduce Lamonica's bond.
