Illinois State Police to conduct roadside checks in Winnebago County

WINNEBAGO COUNTY (WREX) -

Winnebago County drivers may have a run-in with the Illinois State Police this weekend.

The ISP District 16 will conduct two roadside safety checks in the county during the weekend of July 6. The safety checks will focus on drivers who are operating under the influence, driving with a suspended or revoked license, transporting open alcoholic beverages, or operating vehicles in an unsafe manner.

The safety checks will be funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety.
