Go-karts race around town square in Durand.
Early July Fourth celebrations make for an exciting weekend. The city held a parade along with it's traditional go-kart races. Even with the heat the people showed up to help celebrate our nations independence.
"The fourth is in the middle of the week so we decided to have the main events on Saturday and Sunday before the Fourth," said volunteer Beverly Waller.
Durand's Fourth of July go-kart races have been taking place since 1980.
