UPDATE: Gas station shooting now murder investigation

Rockford police detectives are now investigating the shooting of an 18-year-old man at a gas station as a murder.

Shortly after 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, officers were called to the BP Amoco at 3710 Auburn Street where they found Dwayne Buchanan shot several times. He was taken to Rockford Memorial Hospital where he later died from the gunshot wounds.

A 17-year-old also showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound. He was treated and released.

Investigators are looking for a van with possibly four or five people inside.
