A woman Rockford Police say caused the death of her child due to maternal cocaine use is wanted on first degree murder charges.
Rockford Police responded to Rockford Memorial Hospital on January 18, 2011, in relation to the death of a 7-day-old infant. According to an autopsy carried out by the Winnebago County Coroner's Office, the infant died due to premature birth and maternal cocaine use.
Tina M. LaMonica, 37, of Rockford, has been charged with first degree murder. A warrant for her arrest has been obtained with bond set at $1,000,000.
