Nine businesses caught selling alcohol to minors


Illinois State Police District 16 Troopers and Special Agents with the Illinois Liquor Control Commission teamed up to conduct underage alcohol compliance checks in Winnebago County.

Between April 16 and April 19, 26 licensees were checked and nine were found non-compliant.

The following businesses were caught selling alcohol to underage participants in the checks:

  • The Wheel, South Beloit
  • Mustang's Bar & Grill, South Beloit
  • Jaks Inc., South Beloit
  • Rockton Food & Spirits, Rockton
  • Ye Olde Pub, Rockton
  • Salamone's Restaurant, Cherry Valley
  • Backyard Grill & Bar, Cherry Valley
  • TM Minnihan's, Rockton
  • Sam's Pizza, Rockton

The Illinois Liquor Control Commission will decide on fines and/or penalties for the businesses.
