UPDATE: Police arrest suspect in bank robbery

The Associated Bank on North Main Street was robbed Tuesday morning by a lone suspect.

The suspect entered the bank around 10:57am Tuesday and passed a note to the teller demanding money. She then fled on foot.

A Rockford Police Officer noticed a woman matching the suspect's description walking in the 600 block of North Main Street and arrested her. The suspect has been identified as 21-year-old Latoya S. Burrows of Rockford. She was charged with bank robbery and is in federal custody.

A joint investigation into the matter between Special Agents with the FBI and the Rockford Police Department revealed that Burrows was with a male before and after the robbery. Police are currently looking for a black male described as approximately 30-years-old, 5'8", 190 pounds. He was wearing a white tee shirt and blue jeans and has a stocky build with a small mustache and short hair.

Anyone who may know the identity of the male suspect or who has any other information on the robbery is encouraged to call Rockford Police at 815-987-5824 or Crimestoppers.
