Prairie Hill School District #133 is looking for new students.
Last year, the district saw a decrease in kindergarten enrollment, but it's looking for that number to increase for the upcoming year.
The district will hold it's annual preschool screening and kindergarten registration in early April. The preschool screening is free and includes developmental and speech/language assessments along with vision and hearing screenings for children ages three through five that live in the district. The screening also helps to determine some academic skills and helps to catch any delays early.
All children in the district that will be three, four, or five years old on or before September 1st are encouraged to attend. The screening should take approximately thirty minutes per child.
To set up an appointment, contact school nurse Mrs. Butson at 815-389-3957 or butsonn@prairiehill.org.
The screening and registration event will take place April 2, 3, and 4 at the Heritage Baptist Church at 12848 Willowbrook Road in South Beloit.
