North Boone gets first state wrestling win

POPLAR GROVE (WREX) -

A North Boone freshman gave the school its first state wrestling win on Saturday.

Brandon Briggs pinned Kyle Simpkins of Kankakee McNamara at 4:56 to win the 106lb weight class. He was honored with a pep rally at the school on Tuesday morning.

Briggs finished his season with a record of 33-3.
