PRESS RELEASE
Bryden Ford in Durand President, Scott Bryden, gave a $1640.00 check to Hononegah High School Booster Club President, Mike Jaeger, at halftime of the varsity basketball game vs. rival Harlem Saturday night to a rousing round of applause! The $1640.00 is a donation from the successful DriveOne4URSchool promotion held during the RoRo Expo last spring. "I'm happy to help out. I grew up in this community and graduated from Hononegah. My son goes to Hononegah and plays baseball here," an excited Bryden proclaimed!
The DriveOne4URSchool promotion is a simple, innovative concept – community members take FREE, short test drives in new Ford Motor Company vehicles and Bryden Ford and Ford Motor Company in return pay $20 per eligible test drive to the Hononegah Booster Club - up to $6000.00!
Bryden went on to delight the crowd by saying, "The better news is, we're going to do it again and we're gonna raise more money! We can make up to $6000 with this program!" He went on to clarify that the event is run at no cost to the participants. "It doesn't cost you guys anything. You don't pay. We pay. It's 20 bucks per test drive!" Then Bryden announced the new date, March 10, in conjunction with the RoRo Expo. "March 10th is the date. We'll be here again. We'll probably have 20 vehicles and plan to keep 10 cars moving at all times between 10 and 4. We hope you can come out for that. We appreciate your support," Bryden reiterated.
To make this year's event bigger and better, the event will be in the parking lot just north of the Hononegah Sports Dome where the RoRo Expo will be taking place. The RoRo Expo coordinators, the Roscoe Chamber of Commerce and the Rockton Chamber of Commerce, have both given the event additional backing this year and have promised better weather.
"There aren't many fund-raisers a school can run that will earn $1640.00 in two days, only requiring about 10 people to operate it, and with NO COST to the public," Bryden continued. "Our event did just that on fewer volunteers. I know we will do better on March 10th!"
