ROCKFORD (WREX)

Hundreds of ladies descend on Rockford for an annual meeting before the Women State Bowling Tournament.

Members of the Women's Bowling Association gathered at the clock tower hotel for the event. The tournament starts next week and goes all the way until late April. This year, the bowling association's president, Laura Heller, will be inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame. She says the recognition is a surprise.

"It's nothing that you work toward," said Laura Heller. "It just kind of happens and when it does happen it's just nice to be thanked for years of service."

This was the 83rd year the bowling meeting has been held.
