ROCKFORD (WREX)

A benefit for family's of young kids with Down Syndrome brings in a celebrity.

The Machesney Park organization GiGi's Playhouse hosted it's first ever "I Have A Voice" benefit dinner at Giovanni's Restaurant in Rockford. Actress Lauren Potter from the TV show "Glee" was a keynote speaker for the event. The 20-year-old was also has Down Syndrome.

The event is in connection with the National "I Have A Voice" Gala that brings awareness to the issue of people with special needs.
