It happened around 6 a.m. Saturday at the 700 block of Ashland Avenue. The Rockford Fire department believes the fire started somewhere on or near the porch, but don't know what started sparked the flames.
The family was inside when it happened, but everyone got out okay. The Red Cross is provided the family with temporary housing.
