Local documentary to debut at Beloit International Film Festival

A documentary filmed in the stateline area will premiere at the Beloit International Film Festival Friday.

Six Million, Year, After Year, After Year explores the epidemic of child abuse. The film features interviews from the Carrie Lynn Children's Center, a Rockford advocacy center that provides care to child abuse victims. The film premieres Friday evening at 7:30pm at the Eclipse Center in Beloit.

A panel discussion with community leaders will take place after the film. Participants include:

  • Chief Judge James P. Daley, presiding judge for Rock County Circuit Courts
  • Judge Janet Holmgren, presiding judge in Winnebago and Boone Counties
  • Dr. Ray Davis, Pediatrician, Clinical Director, University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford
  • Pastor Kurt Handrich, pastor at Spirit of Hope in Beloit
  • Dennis LeCaptain, Janesville Detective, Care House
  • Curt Wilson, Detective, Loves Park Police Department
  • Kathy Pomahac, Carrie Lynn Children's Center
  • Marisol Tischman, Carrie Lynn Children's Center
  • Kate Zucchi, Carrie Lynn Children's Center

Tickets are $8, plus tax and online fees, and can be purchased at www.BeloitFilmFest.org or at the door on Friday evening. The Eclipse Center is located at 1701 Riverside Drive in Beloit.
