PECATONICA (WREX) -
When it came to surprising our latest teacher of the week, we decided to try something new. Instead of the typical catch them off guard in their classroom, we are taking it to a whole other level.
The way WREX usually surprises a teacher of the week, is we sneak up on them while teaching their class. However, this week we got the entire school to help us give Ms. Diana Wiemer the honor. The ones who nominated Ms. Wiemer... Katie Wadsworth, Laura Wanke, Kelly Reed, and Amy Lang, are all teachers at Pecatonica. They all helped turn a routine assembly into a celebration!
Laura Wanke says Ms. Wiemer is great teacher and has learned a lot from her over the years. "To challenge my students...to push them farther than I usually would...and to love them and work with them and to treat them as if they were my own."
Ms. Wiemer has taught many grades in her teaching career, but there's sometimes about kindergarten that is very special to her. "The amount of time and energy that they have rubs off on me and I just feel like I am using the energy to be charged up and have fun with them because they are at the stage where learning is amazing to them and the growth you see from the beginning of the year of the year to the end of the year is just amazing."
