An autopsy shows a 23-year-old Rockford woman killed in a crash over the weekend was intoxicated.

The Winnebago County Coroner's office released information after completing an autopsy on Tamika Eldridge. It showed she died of head injuries suffered in the crash near the 900 block of Jefferson Street.

A Rockford police officer was on duty when he heard the crash. When he went to investigate, he found two females inside of a Ford Expedition that had crashed into Kent Creek. Eldridge died at the scene. The other woman was taken to Rockford Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

The accident is still under investigation.
