UPDATE: Police identify victim in Belvidere gang-related shooting

ROCKFORD (WREX) -

Belvidere police have released the name of an 18-year-old shot in a gang-related attack on Friday night.

Justin Morse, 18, of Chemung, remains in critical condition at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center Monday night.

Police say Morse was shot in the 500 block of West Menominee Street after an altercation involving several people.

Harold Switzer, 18, of Belvidere, is charged with one count of aggravated discharge of a firearm. He's currently being held in the Boone County jail without bond.

Nichole Bogardus grew up in Boone county and says she's shocked to see this kind of violence in her neighborhood. She's worried about her kids and other kids in the neighborhood being exposed to violence like this.
