ROCKFORD (WREX)
The Rockford Fire Department shuts down portions of Kishwaukee Street to battle flames at the Fiberglass Innovations building.
It happened around 10 a.m. on Sunday. Crews noticed smoke coming from the back half of the building at 2219 Kishwaukee Street. They had to open up part of the roof to attack the fire from above.
There are no reports of anyone being harmed in the flames, but one firefighter was taken to the hospital after injuring his knee.
The estimated cost of damage to the building is about $325,000. The fire's cause is still being investigated.
