Galapagos Rockford Charter School is now accepting student applications for grades kindergarten through sixth grade.

Parents applying between January 4, 2012 and March 16, 2012 will have an equal opportunity to enroll their child at Galapagos Rockford Charter School. Over the last three years, spots for students have been highly coveted, resulting in waiting lists at most grade levels. According to Michael Lane, the co-Founder of Galapagos Rockford; "This is truly the best time to apply for a spot for the next school year. In past years we have had more applicants than positions available."

Galapagos Rockford is a public charter school founded in 2009. "People often ask me, ‘what is special about Galapagos?' I think that it is our staff's unified focus on ensuring that all of our scholars have the skills and the opportunity to go on to college" said Mr. Lane. Galapagos focuses on accelerated learning. For example, the average Galapagos kindergarten scholar has demonstrated double the academic growth of the typical American student. "We know that all of our scholars can and must go on to college, we feel that Galapagos is the first step in that journey."
