Woman attacked by dogs dies from injuries

The 39-year-old woman who was viciously attacked by her two dogs has died from her injuries.

Tonia Parks, 39, died at Rockford Memorial Hospital Tuesday, more than two weeks after her American Bulldogs attacked her inside her home on Collins Street in Rockford. The investigation shows Parks was trying to stop her dogs from fighting when she suffered a seizure and they attacked her. The dogs mauled her head and neck.

The dogs also bit Parks' teenage daughter, but she was not seriously hurt.

Both of the dogs were taken to Winnebago County Animal Services.
