ROCKFORD (WREX) -

The Illinois Treasurer's office is holding an online auction of unclaimed property.

Items that have been sitting unclaimed for more than five years are now up for auction through 6:00 p.m. on December 11. 15,256 pieces of unclaimed property are available in the auction.

"We have a wide variety of interesting items to sell in this auction. You'll find anything from coins and antique jewelry to old baseball cards-there's something that appeals to everyone," said Illinois State Treasurer Dan Rutherford.

100 percent of the sales proceeds will be held for the rightful owners of the property.

Rutherford will be in Rockford at the E.J. "Zeke" Giorgi Center Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. to promote and release more details about the auction.
