A party near the Rock River celebrates people who've kicked addiction and continue on their road to recovery. Remedies and TASC hosted the event to support people who combated substance abuse and reclaimed their lives.
The recovery rally offered music, speakers, food and an opportunity to celebrate. "Rockford has a lot of negative things going on. We've got back crime and drugs in Rockford are bad. We hear a lot of that throughout the community. One of the things that we don't hear a lot of is the opposite of that: recovery," says Rally Coordinator, Kate Craig.
About 200 people came out to support others in their recovery from substance abuse.
