ROCKFORD (WREX) -
The Rockford based pharmacy technician school that just opened earlier this year is already expanding.
Rx Tech Prep has graduated five classes of students this year.
"The school currently has a 94% graduation rate, and has seen several students land jobs in pharmacy," Rx Tech Prep Vice President Roy Rodriguez.
The early success is allowing the school to expand to Elgin, South Beloit, and Freeport later this year. They are also looking into opportunities in Wisconsin.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics reports a growth of 31% in employment for pharmacy technicians by 2018.
