Meridian School District hires new superintendent

STILLMAN VALLEY (WREX) -  The Meridian Community School District has a new superintendent.

The school board voted unanimously to hire Dr. Robert Morelan for the job.  He'll replace Bob Prusator, who is leaving District 223 to be the superintendent of the Carterville School District.

Morelan retired from the U.S. Army, and went in to education.  He was a high school teacher, assistant principal, principal, Director of Reading First and he's spent the last five years as a superintendent.  School Board Member Bruce Larson says they're looking forward to working with Dr. Morelan.

The Meridian School District includes Stillman Valley High School, Meridian Junior High School, Monroe Center School and Highland School.
