Freeport PD finishes internal review of officer-involved shooting

Posted: Updated:

FREEPORT (WREX) - The Freeport Police Department finishes its internal review of one of its officers involved in a deadly shooting.

The department found Officer Sean Patridge acted within the guidelines of Freeport Police's policies.

Back in march he responded to a call at 1645 South Oak Avenue.  That's where 56-year-old David Koertner was shot and killed.  Police originally thought Officer Patridge shot Koertner.  An Illinois State Police investigation found Koertner shot himself.

Patridge is back on full duty with the Freeport Police Department as of last Friday evening.
