Rockford Police arrest homicide suspect

ROCKFORD (WREX) - Rockford Police identify and arrest the man believed to be behind the latest homicide.  21-year-old Jesse Herrera of Rockford is charged with First Degree Murder. 34-year-old Kerry Davis was shot in the chest Thursday afternoon. Police found Davis lying in an alley at 800 King Street and Evelyn Street.  Davis died at a Rockford hospital. 

As of Thursday afternoon Rockford police were looking for a silver or gray SUV last seen in an alley at 800 King Street.  The Rockford Police Department's M3 Street Team eventually found Herrera in the 600 block of Skylark. Herrera's located in the Winnebago County Jail on an $8,000 bond.
