ROCKFORD - The start of a new year means a change in how city of Rockford residents pay their water bills.
Now customers will get their bills every month. The city hopes the monthly schedule will lead to a drop in unpaid bills.
In the past, the city sent out bills every quarter. The city says one of the main reasons it's moving to a monthly schedule is because there was concern over the high amounts customers were seeing on quarterly bills.
