Rockford Park District seasonal job fair held at Indoor Sports Center in Loves Park.ROCKFORD - Hundreds of people turned out to learn more about landing a seasonal job with the Rockford Park District.
The park district has about 180 jobs available this summer. Most are lifeguard positions, but there are also jobs available in customer service, food and beverage and at the golf courses.
People lined up even before the job fair opened Tuesday at the Indoor Sports Center in Loves Park.
One applicant we talked to hopes to find something permanent after being laid off recently. "Right now the job market is very tough out there and to get down here and do what you can. You know, the worst they can tell you is no but at least you got up here and tried to get in on your own," said Job Applicant Josh Schiro.
