Didier Greenhouse Owner Found Dead

By Dani Maxwell

ROCKFORD - The owner of Didier Greenhouse in Rockford is found dead.

Lawrence Didier, 75, was found dead by his brother early Friday morning.

The Winnebago County Coroner's office says Didier went to the greenhouse at 4601 W. State St. just after midnight to roll the tarp that hangs above the greenhouse.  His shirt got caught in the automatic roller machine and he was asphyxiated.

Coroner Sue Fiduccia says when Didier didn't come home at 2:30 a.m., his wife called his brother to check on him.  Didier was pronounced dead at 3:50 a.m.

An autopsy is scheduled for later today.
