BELOIT - The names of the two victims in last week's drive-by shooting have been released.
Carlos Carrasco, 18, of Beloit, and Mercedes Ambriz, 18, of Beloit, were shot in a car near Liberty Avenue and Bluff Street around 4:30 p.m. Friday afternoon.
Carrasco was treated at a local hospital before being flown to a trauma center in Rockford. He was released over the weekend.
Ambriz was treated and released from a local hospital Friday.
Police have been able to talk with both victims and are still looking for the shooter. "We have a suspect vehicle. We're not releasing any information related to that right now, but we are looking for a vehicle that was involved," said Captain William Tyler.
Police do not think this was a random act of violence.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Beloit Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
