ROCKFORD- No child wants his or her Halloween costume to get the "boo", but sometimes finding the perfect costume at the perfect price can be more of a trick than a treat.
Jeff Hendry, a costume designer at Rockford College's theater department, says there are a lot of things parents can do to help make their child a great costume, without spending a lot of money. Hendry says felt is a material that can be used for a variety of costumes and customers can find it cheap at any craft store. Also, there are always odds and ends around the house, such as a white wiffle ball, that if cut in half, could be used to make eyeballs for a costume.
Other materials that could be used to make a creative costumes include bubble wrap, feathers and something as simple as face paint.
