ROCKFORD - Police are investigating a shooting and a stabbing in the 200 block of Kishwaukee Street.
The incidents happened early Sunday morning. Around 4:00 a.m. officers were called to the Orton Keyes Apartments where a 26-year-old man had been stabbed and robbed. He was taken to an area hospital and is expected to recover.
A few minutes later, Police say a group of men went up to a car and tried to rob the two people inside. They drove off and someone started shooting at the vehicle. A woman inside was hit in the face with a bullet. She was taken to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Details of her condition have not been released.
